We are seeking an analytical and assertive individual to assist the
NLEC deliver responsible advice, training and advocacy to employers
in the fields of Occupational Health and Safety and Workers’
Compensation.
As an Employer Advisor you would contribute in these areas:
- Advocacy. You thrive on developing, writing, presenting and debating
positions. You are exceptional at creating and maintaining positive
working relations with others, some of whom have opposing opinions.
You are assertive, professional and respectful.
- Advice. You are skilled at research. You are comfortable using research
and your experience to provide accurate advice on Occupational Health
and Safety issues and Workers’ Compensation claims or assessments.
You enjoy finding solutions to complex situations.
- Training. You enjoy facilitating groups and uncovering the hidden
expertise of others. You are able to develop and deliver packaged
training programs to assist employers develop an understanding of best
practices in Occupational Health and Safety and claims management.
You have a Bachelor’s Degree with three to five years experience in policy
development or advocacy, not necessarily related to Occupational Health
and Safety or Workers’ Compensation. Or you possess an equivalent
combination of education and experience. Experience and education in
Occupational Health and Safety would be considered an asset but is not
essential. You enjoy working as part of a small team and in an employer
advocacy organization.
