NLEC receives Pinnacle Awards for campaign to reduce workers’ compensation premiums

The International Association of Business Communicators, Newfoundland & Labrador Chapter (IAB-NCL) presented the NLEC with two awards on May 22nd at a Pinnacle Awards Gala at the Rooms. The Pinnacle Awards showcase excellence in business communication.

The NLEC was recognized in both the Government Relations and Advocacy Communications categories for the three year campaign to reduce Worker’s Compensation employer insurance premiums.

The Government Relations category recognizes short- or long-term programs that influence the opinion or actions of government bodies or agencies. Advocacy Communications recognizes campaigns that seek to influence the attitudes and opinions of audiences toward an issue, cause, point of view, or organization that in turn can sway government decisions or regulations. The NLEC’s efforts to reduce worker’s compensation premiums resulted in $18 Million in savings annually for employers in Newfoundland & Labrador.

Entries were judged by the IABC chapter in London, ON based on internationally recognized criteria. Winning campaigns must have clearly stated objectives, show originality and demonstrate results based on measured outcomes. Judges consider how well a program was conceived and executed, how appropriate the chosen strategy and objectives were for the desired results, and how the outcomes are measured and achieved.

Special appreciation goes out to our Manager of Public Relations and Strategy Jaclyn Sullivan for the level of skill and professionalism she used to communicate the image and messaging of NLEC.
