The NLEC maintains a firm commitment to protecting the privacy of our members, partners and potential website visitors. This policy explains how personal information is handled by the NLEC. The NLEC reserves the right to change this policy and it may be updated periodically without your notice. It is the responsibility of the site user to check for changes regularly.
Purpose of Personal Information
The purpose for which the NLEC collects personal information will be identified at or before the time the information is collected. The NLEC may collect personal information for the purposes of:
• Administering NLEC membership and providing member services;
• Registering for NLEC events;
• Publishing of the membership directory and website database;
• Providing various NLEC products or services including, but not limited to, the NLEC Newsletter, E-newsletters, invitations to NLEC events, and administering Board elections.
The NLEC will not use personal information for any other purpose than identified at or before the time of collection. The NLEC does not collect personal information, except when it is provided voluntarily by the site visitor with their consent.
Consent
The NLEC seeks consent for all personal information we collect, use and disclose through information provided to individuals prior to collection, or at the time of collection. If you have voluntarily provided information, you have consented to the collection, use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information as described in this privacy policy.
Limits for Collecting, Using, Disclosing and Keeping Personal Information
In all cases, the NLEC limits the amount and type of information collected to only the personal information that is required to provide the individual with the requested information, product, or service. We collect only information that is voluntarily provided by you and undertake that such information will be kept strictly confidential. We retain personal information only as long as is necessary to provide the individual with the requested product, service or information and delete or destroy this information after that time. In some cases, however, legal reporting and retention requirements necessitate that the NLEC retain information for a specific amount of time. The NLEC does not sell or trade any personal information with third parties. Any personal information that the NLEC retains is kept in such a manner as to ensure its security and confidentiality at all times.
Accuracy of and Access to Personal Information Collected
The NLEC does not routinely update personal information. You agree that all information or data of any kind, made available publicly or privately, will be under the sole responsibility of the person providing the said content, or of the person whose user account is used. The site editor will not be responsible to you in any way for content displayed on this web site, nor for any error or omission.
How to Access or Correct Your Information
NLEC staff makes every effort to review communication contact(s) with each member annually. However, it is the responsibility of NLEC members to ensure the accuracy of contact information provided to the NLEC, including the name of the eligible person who will vote at meetings of the NLEC involving voting (“Primary Contact”). You may change or modify membership information that you have provided at any time, by accessing the Members Services page in the Members Only section of this site.
Online Payment
All credit card information that is collected through our website for event registration, membership application or invoice payment is sent to our payment partner, Beanstream Internet Commerce Inc., for use in payment approval and processing. Beanstream is a third party e-commerce facilitator who links customers, merchants, and financial institutions and facilitates electronic transactions. Beanstream is responsible for approving your credit card and transmitting the transaction. The NLEC DOES NOT hold on to any cardholder information relating to the credit card. Statistical Analysis
The NLEC reserves the right to collect and perform statistical analyses of the internet traffic of the site for its internal use. However, information collected does not allow the NLEC to identify any individual or any personal information of the visitor. The NLEC does not sell, rent or loan to any outside parties any information collected and analyzed.
